Recyclability at Virajmaan

We at Virajmaan, understand our responsibility towards the environment, and work constantly towards achieving minimum environment impact levels. In order to achieve the same, all our products are made and / or upgraded keeping in mind their recyclability.

The areas in which we give prime focus are:

  1. Optimizing the product based on the entire life cycle.
  2. Make and safety of the Inputs (raw materials and other products).
  3. Breaking Down of our product (which would mean if the product can be broken down after their useful life to recycle their materials).
  4. Low chemical emissions into air during product usage.
  5. Recyclability.

In the following pages we have tried to break down all parts of any chair and how they can be reused / recycles. This in turn reduces waste at the end of the usable period of a chair.
All Chairs are up to 80 % recyclable based on availability of recycling facilities.

Recycling Material Content in Chairs & Chair Parts:

Components for the Chairs and Chairs Parts are mainly comprised of aluminium, plastic, steel, iron, foam, fabric, rubber and other materials. All these materials can be recycled very easily depending upon the recycling facilities that are at disposal.

  • Die-cast aluminium components are typically made from more than 95-percent recycled material and are 100 percent recyclable.
  • Textiles used in products can be made from natural or synthetic fibres. Several textiles are available with 100-percent recycled content.
  • Foam and textile materials are part of an open-loop system and can be recycled into everything from automotive components to carpet padding at the end of their current life.
  • Most metal components have a powder-coat paint finish that emits negligible volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
  • Steel components contain approximately 37 percent recycled content and are 100 percent recyclable.
  • Plastic components are identified with an ASTM recycling code whenever possible, to aid in returning these materials to the recycling stream.
  • Returnable Packaging—Packaging materials include corrugated cardboard and a polyethylene plastic bag. These materials are part of a closed-loop recycling system, meaning they can be recycled repeatedly.
  • Whenever possible, shipments between Virajmaan and its suppliers include the use of pallets and other returnable packaging to minimize waste.
  • On large orders, disposable packaging can be replaced with reusable shipping blankets.

Period / Timing of the recycling vary with each product. The impact of the same can be measured in terms of the value of the materials that each product signifies at different stages of its life cycle.
